COMING 2028 / WORLDWIDE

A Famed Venue Hosts A Historic Night

On June 25, 2028, The Gilbert Baker Foundation will livestream a star-studded 50th anniversary celebration of the  Rainbow flag at San Francisco’s legendary Castro Theater. Produced by Bruce Cohen, Stephen Kijak, Rachel Libert and Everwonder Studios, this special production will fuse live musical performances with powerful documentary storytelling woven throughout the broadcast. Archival footage will guide audiences through the history of the Rainbow Flag and the movement it helped inspire, while live performances will bring that story into the present and beyond. The result will be more than a documentary. It will be a premium live television event that combines music, history, activism and storytelling into one shared experience.

A HALF CENTURY OF PRIDE

Celebrating Gilbert Baker

In addition to the live celebration, Everwonder Studios will follow up this historic event with Rainbow Revolution, a stand-alone feature documentary that explores the incredible life of Gilbert Baker, as well as the creation of Rainbow 50. Interwoven with rare archival footage will be cultural commentary, behind the scenes footage, electrifying performances and stories from the activists, artists and community leaders who helped shape the movement. The film will chronicle the extraordinary journey of the Pride Flag from Gilbert Baker’s creation in 1978 to its emergence as one of the most recognizable symbols in the world.
